Thanks to Dr. Fallon Aidoo for organizing and to all the CCS members who volunteered and represented UNO at the recent March symposiums: "Democracy in Retreat? Master Planning in a Warming World" and "Heritage at Risk: Climate Changes to Historic Preservation". The conference, hosted in conjunction with Tulane and Columbia Universities, offered enlightening discussions (and at times, heated debates), on a plethora of topics including: adaptation strategies for climate change, coastal restoration and relocation, as well as issues of equity and affordable housing. We look forward to both continuing the dialogue on planning for an unpredictable climate, as well as incorporating what we learned into our roles as planners.
