American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is the American Planning Association's professional institute, providing recognized leadership nationwide in the certification of professional planners, ethics, professional development, planning education, and the standards of planning practice.

AICP accreditation is a superb way to distinguish yourself as a professional planner and make you a marketable candidate for any planning job. In order to become certified, applicants must be members of the American Planning Association (APA), pass an exam, and have the appropriate amount of work experience. Exams are offered twice a year in May and November. Starting in November 2017, students are now eligible to apply for the AICP Candidate program that allows you to take the exam after graduation.
